Join us for our General Members Meeting on August 11!

Organizations hire diverse candidates but a persistent issue for legal employers is the retention and advancement of attorneys of color. Retention is challenging under “normal” circumstances and more so in Minnesota as we have faced unique challenges in addressing racial equity issues, social uprisings, and the COVID-19 pandemic.  Using our theme of “Building an Equitable New Normal”, the focus of the program is on how firms and companies can work together to develop a better diversity business strategy  to retain and advance talent. Panelists will share best practices for how they are working with in-house and outside counsel to develop and refine better business strategies to retain attorneys of diverse backgrounds.

Join us on August 11 from 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM for a panel discussion featuring TCDIP leaders. This program is open to attorneys and legal professionals at TCDIP Member Organizations. Register today!

Meet TCDIP 1L Clerks: Min Ji Kim

Min Ji is a rising 2L at the University of Minnesota Law School and is spending the summer at Greenberg Traurig, LLP and Wells Fargo. She is from Frisco, Texas and graduated from Rice University in 2015.

Having never been to Minnesota before law school, Min Ji has enjoyed the parks, Caribou Coffee, and even the weather. She has heard the past winter was mild, so she is looking forward to a true Minnesota winter. She is also looking forward to a fully in-person school year and attending Minnesota Law events.

Min Ji is learning a lot during her summer at Greenberg Traurig and Wells Fargo. She has learned not only from feedbacks on assignments or from meetings and calls but also from daily interactions whether it be a chat in the hallway or during lunch. From UCC Article 9 to becoming more confident at professional social events, she is acquiring much knowledge and experience. Along with getting lost in the Minneapolis skyway system, she has enjoyed getting to know the attorneys, staff, and fellow students also interning in downtown. She is sad to realize there are only a few weeks left in the internship but hopes to maintain the relationships from the summer.

In her spare time, Min Ji enjoys sketching animals, playing the cello, and listening to a wide variety of music genres, ranging from Queen to BTS. Min Ji would be happy to get to know you, so please feel free to reach out at kim01329@umn.edu. (She also welcomes conversations on UCC Article 9 as she attempts to understand the enigma of secured transactions!)
